How Our Activated Carbon Is Made

Six controlled steps from raw material to sealed sack — with independent laboratory verification built into the flow.

Production Process

Six steps, no shortcuts

Particle size is decided at the start, adsorption capacity is decided in the kiln, and both are confirmed in the laboratory before anything is bagged.

Crushing

Raw material is milled into granules, the first step in controlling final particle size.

Filtering

Granules are screened and sorted into precise mesh fractions: 4x8, 6x12 and 8x30.

Submersion

Burning

Quality Control

Every batch is tested in-house, and grades are verified by independent Sucofindo laboratory analysis.

Packing

Finished carbon is weighed, bagged into lined 25 kg sacks and sealed for clean, secure transport.

On the Floor

Two of those steps, in motion

Filmed on our own floor on a phone rather than by a crew — which is rather the point. Stock photography can be bought; a kiln discharging and a hand full of screened granules are harder to borrow. Both clips are short and silent, and neither downloads until you press play.

Quality Control

Tested in-house, then verified independently

Every batch passes our own laboratory before it leaves the line. On top of that, production samples are sent to IDSurvey / PT Sucofindo — an independent testing body — and analysed under SNI 06-3730-1995, the Indonesian standard for technical activated carbon.

The parameters covered are moisture, ash, loss on heating at 950 °C, material passing mesh 325, bulk density, pure activated carbon content, iodine adsorption and methylene blue adsorption. We publish those reports in full rather than summarising them.

Packaging

Sealed for clean transport

Activated carbon is hygroscopic — it adsorbs moisture from the air as readily as it adsorbs contaminants from water. Packing is therefore part of the specification, not an afterthought.

Weighed per bag

Each bag is weighed as it is filled, so the net weight you order is the net weight that arrives.

Stacked ready to load

Sealed sacks stack flat and travel palletised, so a container plan can be built around your handling equipment.

Standard bag is 25 kg net. Pallet count and container loading plan are confirmed per order — ask us when you request a quotation.

Frequently asked questions

What iodine numbers can you supply?
We produce granular activated carbon in three iodine grades — below 1,000 mg/g, above 1,000 mg/g, and 1,200 mg/g — and we can adjust the grade to match your specification. Independent Sucofindo tests of our production have measured iodine adsorption up to 1,279.13 mg/g.
Which mesh sizes are available?
Standard mesh fractions are 4x8 (coarse), 6x12 (medium) and 8x30 (fine). Ask us if your application needs a different fraction.
Do you serve small orders or only bulk?
Both. We serve small orders and large-volume contracts alike — tell us your required quantity and we will quote accordingly.
Is your carbon independently tested?
Yes. Our activated carbon is analysed by IDSurvey / PT Sucofindo using the SNI 06-3730-1995 method, covering moisture, ash, pure activated carbon content, bulk density, iodine adsorption and methylene blue adsorption. The full figures are published on this website.
What is it used for?
Our granular activated carbon is produced for water purification and for capturing metals in industrial process streams. Its high pure-carbon content and adsorption capacity also suit general industrial filtration.
